Free advice from Mo I mean his buddy DR

Here is an article off Dave Ramsey’s site, found by my hubby, enjoy!

Sometimes, you just need to see more than a number going down. You are getting out of debt, collectors aren't calling anymore, and your stress level is a fraction of what it used to be. You know you are winning, but you want to see something that reminds you of your progress.

Here are some ideas~

Have a monthly debt-free meeting. Set aside some time each month specifically to talk about what you'll do when you're debt-free. If you're planning a trip, talk about all the things you'll do. If you're planning to just blow some money, joke around about how fun it will be. Stay fired up.

Personalize your debt-free plan. Do something so you can see the progress that you've made. Put your debts on the refrigerator and cross them out as you pay them off. If you are paying off your house, draw a picture of it separated into sections. When you pay off part of it, fill part of the picture in. It can be fun to get creative.

Keep a journal. When you start the process of becoming debt-free, write down how you feel about making the sacrifices to do it. Keep a running log of your thoughts. As you get closer to your goal, go back and read how your viewpoints have changed. As you read, you can see how you are looking at money differently. You will see how you are changing!

As you see your debt decreasing, think about expensive stuff that you could have bought with the money. Remind yourself that if you had done that, your debt load would be horrendous, and you would have no financial peace. All for a bunch of "stuff" that doesn't look so good because it's got payments. No way!

It looks like we will be having an in house date night to discuss all this great stuff; but probably not until the Olympics are over. We are very into the Vancouver games and already said we would love to see the summer games in England. There’s a goal for our debt free celebration!
