We pretended we were biking around Ocean City, New Jersey this morning. We stopped at Dunkin Donuts for a little breakfast and then ran into the Dollar Tree for some wrapping paper. Not quite the same and Dot's Bakery or Hoy's Five and Ten store. Raine and I really enjoy riding our bikes around our neighborhood. She has become quite brave and keeps telling me not to worry!

My sweet girl brought me a strawberry banana smootie and fruit while I lay in bed and read. She also had a lovely homemade gift for me as well. She has such a big heart!
We celebrated the May birthdays and mine at the Feldman Country Club. Alan made the most amazing roasted corn and BBQ chicken. It was a wonderful time with amazing friends we consider family. Such a perfect way to spend my day.

Summertime is here, which means another 8 week road trip is upon us! We hung out on the west side of the country last year so the kiddos have forgotten all the planning and work it takes to pack for a trip this long. Lil miss sassafras is having a terribly hard time only packing 14 outfits and Reece has a hodge podge of clothes that either don't match or are too small or too big. We are supposed to leave around three am on Saturday morning but since Mo was off buying a truck on Friday (my birthday) we decided to stay in town a whole extra day. I was happy about that because it made for more relaxed packing and a chance to celebrate Victoria Feldman and her graduation from Faith Lutheran High School! Yay for a delicious dinner by chef Marc at Parma with amazing friends! We enjoyed our night, came home and crawled into our Las Vegas beds one last time before our journey. 3 am would arrive too soon for me but I don't have to drive so sleep I will!

Our drive home took 7 hours and about 3/4 a tank of gas. Mo said that Edward the Edge did amazing on gas. Yay for our new car and the simple pleasures of great gas mileage. While we were playing around with my iPhone Sirius radio popped on. It was such a pleasant surprise. Mo enjoyed driving while rocking out to classic rock. I felt like I was back in Marilla growing up. What good memories music can bring on. Edward is still lacking a few wants such as a dvd player for the kiddos and a hitch for our bike trailer. Reece and Raine were able to watch a few movies on the lap top and play on their DSI and iPod. It was a sweet simple ride home.

The crew at the beginning of the trail. We loved hiking with this gang!
Galena Creek was so refreshing and beautiful. I could have sat on the side of it all day long.
My boys found old fishing line laying around the pond. Then they searched for sticks and made their own old school fishing rods. Mo actually caught two fish on his lure that was actually a fly fishing lure. We did stay at Marilyn pond for very long but is was fun while we were there.

Reno Aces baseball is just about the same as Las Vegas 51's baseball. I felt like I was sitting in the same stadium but it was a lot cooler out. We had an awesome date night with Mike and Shontell. I forgot how much Mo loved watching ball. It was so enjoyable seeing him excited about something other than hunting. The baseball player is the boy I fell in love with; glad to see he still has it in him.

WOW, Kindergarten is exhausting! I feel like I am always repeating myself and asking the students to be quiet. It has been 2 years since I have had my own classroom; I have forgotten so many things. I have had to take several deep breathes throughout the morning and at lunch I feel like I need a nap. I try so hard to be calm and positive but I saw this reminder and it really hit home.

You are an amazing little girl! When we asked you what you wanted to do for your birthday you asked to go to the Mini Grand Prix. You love to drive the race cars and ride the rides, especially the slide. You just kept going up and down and up and down. It was a really nice Sunday, not too busy and not too hot. For dinner, you asked if we could go to Mimi's Cafe. You love to eat mac n cheese there, well anywhere, that is your favorite food. You also love playing with Barbies and were very excited that you received a Malibu Barbie and Ken. Reece gave you a fun kit which allows you to color and design your own Barbie dresses. I baked and frosted your bday cake with the hot pink frosting you requested but then daddy took over. He did all of the awesome lettering and flowers. It was so sweet and delicious. We love celebrating you sweet heart!

We LOVE Superheros!
Reece and daddy hit up the comic book store to pick out a few things he might like for his 9th birthday. Toys R Us has some of the best Superhero masks.
Mo couldn't stop laughing when I snuck up on him and asked him to take our picture.
Who is your favorite Marvel or DC superhero?

We rented a pontoon boat from 1:30-5:30 and it was an awesome experience. The kids were even catching fish left and right. Aubrey caught 8 fish all by herself. Reece loved playing with the sand sharks everyone caught. Raine took a nice long nap and then swam in the bay. I sat and read my book or enjoyed watching everyone fish. It was a lovely way to spend the day.
